Your Family’s Greatest Mission — We are THAT Family

I love this blog and blogger. Kristen Welch and her family are something. I think I wrote about her previously regarding the mission she began in Kenya called Mercy House. This is an especially meaningful post for me. I've tried to live it my entire life. Be God's presence wherever you are, whatever you do. Make your life a mission life, Christ's mission to go to the world and preach (and do) His saving grace. Share the gospel, the good news in whatever way you can. And practice what you preach. Actions do speak louder than words. Thanks Kristen for this blog.

Baby-proofing

Our little guy is now 8 1/2 months and nearing the crawling stage. So now I am looking at everything from a crawler's point of view! He has already bumped his head on the coffee table low shelf. An edge-foam tape for tables is ordered. The stairs are another big problem, so a nice gate is also ordered. We, actually my husband, needs to figure out how to mount it since our stairs at the top have only the banister/larger spindle, thus no wall to mount even one side to.

Ben is looking everywhere and noticing more and more. That seems to be his pre-crawling behavior that will motivate him. He wants to get to those fascinating objects and places. So I do have outlet covers, though need to get a few more.

At Christmas our older daughter suggested I move the coffee table out of the space where the kids were playing to one side. I resisted. Well, now I'm ready to do it so we have a larger play area in the living room. Certainly the Grandkids' Room will be totally baby-proofed, but we don't want to stay in there the entire time! And the downstairs family room is a mess, so I have to get to that before he can play down there.

The times they are a changin'! Now I just need to stay ahead of them.

Messing Around with Design

As you can see, if you've visited this blog before, I am messing around with the design. I wish I knew how to design my own, but meantime I must use the few designs that Blogger provides.

'via Blog this'

I was trying to get this inserted to my post below, however did not manage to do it. So here is the movie about Mercy House mentioned below.

Blogging---That's the Question

Recently I have found some wonderful bloggers, inspirational even. Also one blogger who on her own established a home for pregnant girls in Kenya, and then got the support of her online community to share in the initial and ongoing costs. Amazing. That blog is "We are THAT Family" and I have it listed in my blog list. It is worth following and contributing to financially or buy a product from the online store that also supports the home called Mercy House.

So am I really blogging? Real bloggers blog often, almost daily. The exceptional bloggers I've found are excellent writers and have great content to share. And some, as Kristin Welch does, have extra meaning and purpose with a cause or project they support.

Via "We are THAT Family" I also met and read (and saw in a video) about a blogger (Gitzen Girl) who influenced so many online friends with her joy and inspiration---she suffered a disabling illness that kept her in her apartment and in bed most of the time. She died over a year ago, and now her sister or other family, keep up her blog off and on.

So back to my question, am I blogging? Really? Whether or not I meet the standards of the "real" bloggers, I will continue to blog, to write my thoughts, to recommend articles or websites, and to share myself for what it's worth. The inspiring bloggers have motivated me to stick with it, to keep on, to just do it. And I plan to do just that. Practice makes...well, better!
